Don’t be deceived by politicians with sugar coated tongues, Tinubu admonishes electorates

The standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Presidential poll, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised to tackle headlong the chains of problems bedeviling the country when he assumes office after winning the polls slated for Saturday, February 25th, 2023.

He made the promise while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters at the Uniben Sports Complex, Ugbowo Campus on Thursday afternoon.

He warned the crowd to be wary of his opponents with sugar coated tongues who will promise heaven on earth but are not capable of delivering on their promises when the chips are down and also do not have records to back up their claims of past achievements.

Tinubu recalled that the PDP Presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, while in office as the Vice-President to the then President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007 had cause to engage in public altercation with the then President over allegation of their corrupt practices.

Earlier, the former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, admonished the gathering to vote rightly for Tinubu as he is the only Presidential candidate who is capable of turning the fortunes of Nigeria around for the better.

He recalled how Senator Tinubu had provided the dividends of democracy to Lagosians in his time as Governor of Lagos State despite the frustration he was subjected to by then President Obasanjo who for a long period of time refused to give Tinubu the state share of federal allocations.

Comrade Oshiomhole also recalled his chain of achievements as Governor of which his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki, has not been able to match in his almost seven years in office.

In his own submission, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje while addressing the members of the Arewa Community resident in Edo State in the Hausa language charged them to ensure that Senator Tinubu secure all their votes in the general elections as he has over time shown true love to people of northern extraction.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the flagbearer of the party in the 2020 governorship polls in the State, in his opening prayer assured Senator Tinubu that the people of the state would not let him down.

Other topshots of the party in attendance at the rally included former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Minister of State, Budget and Planning, Prince Clem Agba; former Governor of Edo State, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor; former Deputy Governors of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen and Peter Obadan; member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Akpatasson; former members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rasak Bello-Osagie and Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon and a horde of the party’s candidates in Edo State for the 2023 polls.
