Restored Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has raised the spirit of the Nigeria female team at the ongoing 2024 Olympic games in France, the Super Falcons, describing them in superlative terms.

In a message on his social media page, Shaibu stated that “I had the privilege of joining the electrifying crowd at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes, France, to cheer on our beloved Super Falcons as they took on Japan’s Women’s National Team at the Olympics.

“Though the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, the team’s return to the Olympics after a 16-year hiatus is a triumphant step in the right direction. With time, patience, and dedication, the pieces will fall into place, and victory will be within reach again.”

According to him, “as I watched our girls face off against formidable opponents like Brazil, Spain and Japan, I was struck by their determination and unrelenting fighting spirit — though not with the desired outcome, it was a joy to behold, and I must salute their courage and patriotism!

“With a few tweaks and refinements, I have no doubt that the Super Falcons will spread their wings and soar to new heights. To the players, I see a bright, beautiful future ahead, filled with promise and potential. Keep shining, dear ones!”
