A prominent youth leader in Edo State and former Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Anti Human Trafficking Issues, Comrade Solomon Okoduwa, has described the nomination of Hon. Dennis Idahosa as the Deputy Governorship candidatd of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a square peg in a square hole.
Okoduwa in a statement titled “The man the cap fits” appreciated the leadership of the APC for carefully nominating the right person as running mate to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo. He said the choice and nomination of Hon. Dennis Idahosa for the position gladdens the heart of all, particularly the youths.”
The statement issued in Benin City, said, “APC got this one super right. The party has won the heart of the youths in particular and the state in general. The choice of Hon. Dennis Idahosa has outclassed other political parties. With this development, APC has taken the words of the youths seriously by choosing a man after their hearts.”
The Youth Leader who is also the Executive Director of IYAMIDR said “This will bridge the gap of all the ethnic groups across the three senatorial districts in the state.”
Okoduwa noted “the politician possessed a rich pedigree as seasoned grassroot politician. He is a man whose love cuts across political differences and the three senatorial districts in Edo State.
He added, “The number of people including many youths that have congratulated him since he was named as the running mate to Senator Monday Okpebholo is a testament to his popularity and wide acceptance by all.”
Okoduwa said one of the greatest qualities of the politician is that he is accessible to all.
“Both the rich and the poor. Virtually everybody has his phone number and he picks his calls without segregation. That is the kind of Deputy Governor we need. He is a man of the people and youth friendly.”
The youth leader eulogised the leadership of the APC particularly Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole by fostering unity in the party and demonstrating strength to win the state back to APC.
