The Parish Priest of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Irhirhi, in Benin City, Edo State, Rev. Fr. Jonas Nwaiwu, has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for his laudable infrastructural projects across the state.

The cleric gave the commendation during his homily at the wedding of the son of Isaac Ehiozuwa, a former Edo State Head of Service, Donald Osawaru, which was held at the church premises in Benin City.

Governor Obaseki was accompanied to the event by Secretary to State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie; Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq. and a former Head of Service, Princess Ekiuwa Inneh, among other government functionaries.

The governor who thanked the Parish Priest for his homily said his government will sustain developmental projects across the state to open more areas for economic activities and improve the living standards of the people.

“We are here to celebrate with the couple and wish them well and the best of marriage life.

“We thank God for the life of the new couple and pray for good life and prosperity for them,” he added.

Earlier, the cleric, Rev. Fr. Jonas Nwaiwu, who acknowledged the leadership style and doggedness of Governor Obaseki commended him for extending his infrastructural development to Irhirhi.

“I want to commend the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for his developmental strides in the State.  Irhirhi people have benefited from this administration following the construction of Irhirhi Road as it has opened up the area for economic development.”
