Centenarian celebrated for her dedication to serving God

Encomium has been showered on late Chief Mrs. Beatrice Ogugua Ojogwu(Nne Okogwu), a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church for her dedication to serving God in truth and holiness in her 106 years on earth.

Reminiscing on her life time on the occasion of her lying in state/funeral service witnesses gave account of how she commenced the church activities in Kano using her residence as the church premises even as she won souls.

Witnesses also gave account of how, not minding the great danger to her life, she gave protection and succour to those who were fleeing from the Asaba genocide during the Nigeria Civil War(1967 – 1970).

Also mentioned was her virtuous lifestyle even as she was a source of support to many and was also evident in how she singlehandedly brought up her children for 58 years after she became a widow.

The train then moved to the reception held at the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, where guests were treated to a never to be forgotten moment of cultural dance entertainment, delicious many course meal spiced with choice beverages and presentation of worthy gift items.
