Johnny Ikponmwosa Aikpitanyin has emerged as the candidate of the Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the August 16, 2025 National Assembly bye-elections for Ovia Federal Constituency.

Aikpitanyin, who was the only aspirant for the Ovia Federal Constituency seat, was elected at the primary election conducted in Iguobazuwa on Monday, July 21, 2025.

In a related development, Prince Joe Okojie has emerged as the party’s candidate for the August 16, 2025 National Assembly by-elections for Edo Central Senatorial District.

Okojie emerged as the winner of the PDP Primary election election which held in Ubiaja, Esan South East Local Government Area of the State on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Those who contested for the Edo Central Senatorial ticket on the platform of the PDP are: John Yakubu, Friday Itulah, and Joe Okojie.
