The hapless victim, Mr. Emokhare Iluore, who survived the onslaught on the skin of his teeth, disclosed that his friend, Orukpe Monday Jeremy, was behind the wheel of his car — a Black coloured Mercedes Benz, JLK 350 with Registration number FCT: RBC 702 BD.

He also revealed that after the gunshot, the policemen walked away to escape a likely mob attack even as the impact of the gunshot could be seen on his rear windshield which was completely shattered.

He disclosed that Orukpe and another Nigerian who witnessed the ugly incident when it occurred went to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General(AIG) Zone 5 in Benin City where the case was incidented.

Adding that before an undercover policeman accompanied him to the incident scene few minutes after the incident, the two policemen had escaped. He appealed to the authorities concerned to bring the culprits to justice.

According to him, “On getting to the roundabout before Kada Cinema, I was stopped by some policemen. I didn’t see them initially because we were almost at the edge of the roundabout.

“Our lane was blocked because a trailer in front of us could not move. A traffic warden came and told the policemen to allow me to park well not to obstruct the traffic. The policeman called one of his colleagues.

“The traffic warden was directing me to park well. The next thing I heard was a gunshot and I discovered that my back windscreen was shattered.

“As I looked at the policemen who did the havoc from my rear view glass they walked away as if nothing happened.”

He stated that the policemen inflicted extensive damage on the car that he bought for N8million.
