BRACED Union commends Governor Wike for reinforcing the proscription of IPOB in Rivers

The BRACED Union, a coalition of South-South people of Nigeria, has commended Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for reinforcing the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), declaring its unalloyed support for the decision of the Rivers State Chief Security Officer.

In a statement endorsed by the National President of the Union, High Chief Monday Wehere, the decision was described as apt towards restoring peace and order in the state.

The statement also urged other state governors to take a cue from the actions of Governor Wike, maintaining that it was evident that the good intentioned #EndSARS Protest had been hijacked by IPOB to unleash wicked and destructive on agenda on the States of South-South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria.

However, IPOB was equally advised to stay off Rivers State and by extension other BRACED States in the interest of peace and harmony.

“We are peace loving even in the face of provocation. We are glad that Nigerian youths have woken up from their slumber to challenge bad leadership in Nigeria, but that does not give room for disgruntled elements to take advantage of.

“Destroying our hard earned State Government’s asset is only a call for crisis that nobody from the BRACED States would take lightly.

“We honestly commend Governor Wike for the action taken to remind the already proscribed IPOB that they have no place in Rivers State or any other State among the BRACED Union.

“The BRACED Union is more than ever ready to defend our territorial integrity. We will not allow infiltration by people who violently seek the association of others without genetic ties to them.

“On a final warning, we advise IPOB not to test our patience and capability. For now, let the law take its course”, the Statement affirmed.
