Pastor Ebi Ojemekele, the Senior Pastor of Christlike Cathedral International (aka home of prayers and answers) situated in Benin City, has called on those in authority to do what they can to better the lot of the people.
She made the call recently while giving a Christmas message inside the church’s expansive auditorium in Oben along Sapele Road, Benin City.
“My message to Nigerians is let’s show more love now than ever before because the times are hard, people are hungry, there is starvation.
“If you have, from the little you have you can give to you neighbours. Don’t make life difficult for the next person.
“My message also goes to that are in power to better the lots of those that are weak,” she stated.
Reflecting on the meaning of the Christmas season, Pastor Ojemekele quoting from the scriptures said: “In Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6 the Bible says: ‘unto us a son is given and the government of this world shall be upon His shoulder and He shall be called wonderful, counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting father and the Prince of Peace.’
“If you bring these together it tells us that the coming of Christ is a blessing to us and is worth celebrating. Also if you want to have a good government we need to depend on Christ. If we want to see the wonders of God we also move Christ to make it happen.
“What I am saying in essence is Christmas is beautiful; Christmas brought civilisation and Christmas will continue to keep the world going round. So, let’s embrace Christmas with joy and gladness.”
She used the opportunity to invite worshippers to her church’s Thanksgiving Service slated for 8.00am on Sunday, December 6th, 2020.
