Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) Worldwide has revealed plans by Johnson Atseleghe to tamper with the course of justice as it relates to his ongoing trial at a criminal court of law in Benin.

In a statement signed by its President, Elder Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, the BSM stated that it’s attention “have been drawn to some underground processes in the Edo State Judiciary and we view with great concern the recent issues surrounding the moves by a kidnap/murder suspect, Johnson Atseleghe, to tamper with the rule of law by circumventing his trial.

“It is a funny scenario to hear that the high calibre suspect is engaged in moves to get some kind of soft-landing in his kidnap/murder case in a Benin Criminal High Court.

“The question we want answered is that is it proper for a criminal who has a case under legal proceedings to be angling to decide the path the course of justice should take?

“This question has become sacrosant as the suspect is known to be making moves to determine the Judge who handles his case as the present presiding Judge of his case is presently indisposed due to the annual Judicial Holiday and thus Johnson Atseleghe and his sponsors is working behind the scene to ensure that a Vacation Judge of his choice is assigned to take over his case.

“By so doing, Atseleghe is pushing his luck too far and we will like to let him know that he is walking against the tide of the storm. In our opinion he should just face the consequences of his years of maltreating the peace loving people of Ologbo Dukedom in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government of Edo State.

“Many of the people are still not out of grieve such that the memories of his evil deeds continue to linger. Many have lost their loved ones through the evil deeds of Johnson Atseleghe not to talk of properties worth many millions of naira from a needless war of attrition he solely declared against those he felt are not in support of his Draconian tendencies.

“As they say, the evil that men do live with them. Atseleghe, take a sip from the cup of poison you prepared for the innocent people of Ologbo Dukedom. He who prepares a meal deserves to have a portion of it.”
