Benin school proprietor pledges to maintain good standard

Proprietor of Catholic Intercessory Academy(CIA) situated by Benin – Warri Bye pass, Benin, Fr. Alfred Agbonlahor, has promised to maintain the good standard for which the school is known.

He made the promise on the occasion of this year’s edition of the school’s Festival of Arts/Founder’s Day celebration.

Fr. Agbonlahor disclosed that year in year out the standard of the school keeps improving. Citing as an example the fact that last year’s success rate of the school in the different external examinations that its pupils participated in was 100 percent a sharp improvement to what obtained the previous year.

He showered praises on the Head of School(HoS), Sandra Amiji, for her untiring efforts in running the affairs of the school without blemish for the past 14 years that she has been in charge.

Earlier, Dr. Kingsley Anyira, a lecturer, who presented a paper on Art, admonished Nigerians to stop the habit of aping western culture, saying that anybody abandoning his culture for that of others is losing his identity.

Highlight of the programme included poetic recitations; musical presentations; dance and drama sketches which the pupils presented with near perfection to the admiration of the appreciative crowd.
