APC chieftain eyes victory for party in Edo Council poll

Ambassador Chief Fecus Ezekwere, leader of Igbo Community in Edo State, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress(APC) will emerge victorous in the forthcoming local government election in the state.

Ambassador Ezekwere made this known while speaking to journalists on the decision of the party to participate in the local government elections schedule for this month.

He averred that the party is doing everything possible to mobilize its members inspite of the short time given to EDSIEC to conduct the election.

“The APC has decided to participate in the election after due consultations. The PDP themselves called us out for the election because they want us to disgrace the Governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, who is presently fighting with his party leaders.

“So in the face of this crisis in the PDP people will vote APC. The party is doing everything to field councillorship and chairmanship candidates and mobilize its members for the election irrespective of the timing of the election.

“We are fully on ground to ensure that a level playing ground is provided by EDSIEC for parties to participate. APC will emerge victorous because we have all it takes to win”.

On the preparedness of the Igbo Community to participate in the election, Ambassador Ezekwere said ” as you already know the Igbos are businessmen here and they will vote for a party that will come up with policies and programmes that wll better their lives.”
