Rights activist and President of the One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor(aka Ultimate Equals), has given knocks to democracy as it is being practiced in Africa.
He said that the democracy being practiced in Africa is a complete let down as it is not favouring the people. In his estimation the military in all ramifications did more better while in power.
Using Nigeria as a case study he said: “The Nigeria Military built our refineries, roads and bridges. But these nuisances called politicians destroyed all these. Democracy is not our culture at all, but benevolent dictatorship is the answer.
“Check out Rwanda led by General Kagame. Nigeria led by General Murtala Mohammed. Burkina-Faso led by Captain Thomas Sankara. Libya led by Colonel Muamar Gadaffi and Egypt of today!
“This democracy is certainly not working for us, and I’m beginning to see that, democracy is being used by these Westerners to manipulate Africa and to continue in their neocolonialism of African countries.
“I’m not suggesting the military is better. I am only saying that we should look into it properly.
“You can’t have a Senate President in this difficult time who arrogantly say members account has been credited when they are unable to pay palliative of N8000 to their citizens. Democracy where men have become institutions.
“I am not a prophet of doom. War, poverty, corruption, hunger, misery, human suffering will not change in a monetary system. That is, there will be very little significant change. It’s going to take the redesign of our culture and values!”
