Those making the allegations cited the confusion that to date trail the party ticket obtained by some assumed political heavyweights who got the tickets at the last hour after offering huge sums of money.

The latest in the history of betrayals and greed ascribed to officials of the party within the state and at the national level involve alleged plot to admit to the party a defeated ex-guber aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2016 through the back door not minding the deal for the switching of political party platform was brokered by a grassroots mobilizer who was later sidelined by Ogbaloi as he decided to close the deal in the absence of the originator of the deal.

Said the aggrieved link man between Ogbaloi and the would be defector, “I was shocked that on the day slated for the meeting between Ogbaloi and the ex-APC guber aspirant with me in attendance as a reliable witness Ogbaloi kept me in the dark on his dubious plan while going ahead to meet the would be defector in a secret meeting at his(defector’s) palatial home in GRA, Benin.”

The aggrieved originator of the deal having felt betrayed by the duo of Ogbaloi and the defector poured hot words on them to express his anger.

As it is the information which is trending in political circles around the acclaimed heartbeat state has resulted in some of the party’s(LP) sympathisers openly boasting to ditch the party at the eleventh hour to vote for a rival political camp during the polls in 2023.

The concerned stakeholders  are of the conviction that this untoward mannerism of the party’s officials may eventually result in negative consequences that may deem the chances of the party’s Presidential hopeful, Peter Obi at the 2023 polls.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party, Chief Patrick Eholor, while claiming that he is not the right person to speak on the issue said, “I am not aware of this news. Appreciate you my brother I wish you a happy new year in advance. I’m not sure why you are in disbelief I feel offended.

“I am not in Edo State. I don’t know what is happening in Abuja or Edo State. I am really disappointed that you that I think know can talk like this.

“It is very unfortunate. I wish you all the best.”
