Edo State Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists(NAWOJ) has organised a bye election to fill the vacant positions in the chapter.
The bye election became necessary because the NAWOJ Constitution permits for bye election for vacant position(s) after the state chapter election.
The chapter election which took place on the 2nd of December, 2022 produced Adesuwa Ehimuan as Chairperson, Favour Percy Idubor as Vice Chairperson and Anthonia Nwachukwu as Financial Secretary.
During the bye election, Oyemwese Odeh emerged as the Secretary of Edo NAWOJ;
Patience Osarogiuwa as Treasurer; Eseoghene Akporhonor as Assistant Secretary; Habiba Sam Ibrahim as Auditor and ex-officio went to Elizabeth Omokor.
The women journalists then assured of continuous promotion of peace, love, unity and progress in the profession.
A statement signed by the Edo State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan expressed thanks to all members of the association, stakeholders and other persons for the support the association got so far and sued for its continuous support to move the association forward.
