Former governorship candidate in Edo State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), General Charles Airhiavbere(rtd), said he has absolute confidence in the Senator Abdullahi Adamu led National Working Committee(NWC) in organizing a rancour free special presidential convention come 30th of this month.
Airhiavbere played host to over 4000 House of Representatives aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) across the country who were at the Zeus Paradise Hotel owned by him for their screening.
He said the level of maturity and composure displayed by the aspirants and the screening panel put in place by the NWC has clearly shown what to expect from the national convention in Abuja.
“You see, people are running mouth already, but I can assure you that with the level of display by those contesting and our national leaders, especially the national working committee as led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, I can tell you that we will have smooth, free and fair primaries that everyone will be proud of.
“I played host to 4000 aspirants in my hotel. They were screened there. I saw their maturity, composure; I was really proud of them. So, we don’t expect anything short of this in our special presidential convention this month ending.
“I also advise that all our presidential aspirants should carry on with their campaign in canvassing for party faithful support the way they are doing now, no insult, no abuse. I must commend them.”
