Groups commend JUSUN for joining the fight for independence of the judiciary

The Vanguard for the Independence of Judiciary (V4IJ) and One Love Foundation has both commended the JUSUN national leadership for joining the fight for the independence of the judiciary in Nigeria, saying the time is now for stakeholders to fight for independence of the judiciary, following the unpalatable occurrences recently which could emasculate the judiciary.

In a joint statement issued in the evening of Thursday the 1st of April, 2021, in Abuja by the President of the Vanguard for the Independence of the Judiciary (V4IJ)-Douglas Ogbankwa Esq and the President of the One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Eholor, the groups stated thus:”The momentum for the independence of the judiciary is at its fever pitch and we are enthused by the timely and timeous  intervention of the umbrella body of all judiciary workers in Nigeria. The advantage of having a financially  autonomous judiciary is unassailable.

Only enemies of true democracy will oppose an independent judiciary which is an asset to the weak and the strong at all times. We call on  all governors in Nigeria to abide by the constitution, which they swore to protect, else there will be dare consequences from the Law. 

Our governors are not gods and they should not be in the mistaken believe that they can do anything and get away with it. The Law shall catch up with each and every one of those governors that desecrate the temple of justice by tampering with the money earmarked for the judiciary. 

Freedom looms and a discerning  mind must realize that change is here. Change is a challenge to the adventurous and a threat to the obscure insecure,” the statement concluded.
