At the various schools visited, the leader of the COVID-19 team and Health Educator for Edo Healthcare Development Agency, Mrs. Irene Uabor and the risk communication officer for NCDC, Mr. Simon Idoko interacted with the principals and students, tutoring them on the proper way to wash their hands and wear facemask.

Uabor noted: “Today being the first day of resumption for schools in Edo State, we had to go round to monitor compliance with the directive from the government and the observance of Covid-19 protocols. We are impressed with the outcome as schools visited adhered strictly to the directives with the students wearing facemasks and buckets of water for hand washing seen at the entrance of the schools.”

Idoko expressed satisfaction with the exercise, adding: “We are satisfied with what we saw on ground. There are also few lapses which we brought to the attention of the principal of such schools to ensure they are corrected.”
