Obi said: “Obaseki is one of those that are committed to building a better Nigeria and one of those that are committed to ensuring that we leave for our children a future that is free of anarchy.

“Vote for him, support him; he is not like that man that told us that his opponent cannot be trusted and coming back to say we should vote for the same person. Are we fools?” he queried.

On his part, Chairman of ICU, Sam Ohuabunwa, reassured: “The Igbo Community is strongly behind you because you are a true leader. This election is part of the struggle to liberate this nation because some persons are trying to make this nation their own.”

Similarly, the PDP Igbo Community Unit in Edo, under the leadership of Mr. Samson Awekhai commended Obaseki for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

“You stopped thuggery; you stopped illegal collection of taxes and levies; you stopped illegal activities of Community Development Associations (CDAs).

“I will not stop to enumerate your achievements within the space of three years and nine months. Your achievements are visible everywhere.”

High point of the event was the presentation of a plaque to Obaseki by Mrs. Josephine Anenih, former Minister of Women Affairs as the governor was adopted as the grand patron of ICU.
