A sad day it was for some commuters of a “korogbe” bus shuttling between Oluku, a community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State and Benin City, the state capital.
An eye witness account divulged that the incident, an accident, occurred as a big truck with registration number Lagos JJJ 714 YK fully loaded with planks was about making a u-turn around 7 Up Bottling Company Complex on the Lagos Benin Expressway.Â
The vehicle was said to have experienced brake failure and as the driver of the vehicle lost control the vehicle rammed into the commuter bus filled with eight passengers and its driver.Â
This resulted in life threatening injuries to a lot of the commuters in the bus with blood flowing freely on the road while a massive holdup built up on the road amidst weeping and gnashing of teeth even as other road users and passersby help to mitigate the situation. Time check of the accident was 10.15 am.
As at the time of doing this report no presence of the officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) was recorded at the scene of the gory accident.
