Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has reassured the people of the state that “up to the last day of this administration, we will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our dear state.”
He gave the reassurance in a tweet on his X handle while commending the prompt response of a contractor to his order that the road passing through the front of his residence in Benin metropolis be fixed.
“I am pleased to announce that my recent expose on the poorly reconstructed Aideyan/Golf Course road in GRA, Benin, has yielded swift results. Less than 48 hours after I issued a marching order for the contractors to fix the road as soon as possible, during an inspection exercise, they have returned to the site to rectify the issues.
“As the Deputy Governor of Edo State, I am committed to ensuring that our infrastructure meets the highest standards. The Aideyan/Golf Course road is a critical artery that serves many residents and businesses, and its poor condition was unacceptable.”
Going further, he stated: “I want to commend the contractors for their prompt response and commitment to delivering quality work. As a government, we will no longer tolerate substandard work, even as we continue to prioritize the people’s interests.
“To the good people of Edo State, I assure you that, up to the last day of this administration, we will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our dear state. Let’s continue to work together to build a better Edo State.”
