Labour Party (LP) governorship hopeful, Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon (aka The Riceman), has assured that he stands the better chance of winning the governorship poll in Edo State in 2024 if the right thing is done by the party and secures its ticket.
Barrister Imansuangbon asserted that of the large number of those claiming to be interested in governing the state on the LP platform he stands the best chance of winning the election ahead of the candidates that the other popular political parties like APC and PDP may be fielding.
He spoke while paying a Christmas/end of year visit to the leadership and party members in the state head quarters office in Benin City on Wednesday.
“I am happy that our party is getting better and stronger. I am happy now that our party is well positioned for the challenges ahead. We will surmount all.
“I can report to you that we are the nooks and crannies of all the 18 local government areas of Edo State. LP is ready. Edo people are in support of the party. We saw the problems of our people – bad roads, infrastructural decay, etc.
“When I visited your(LP State Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi) local government headquarters (Afuze) it took me three hours to get to Ewohinmi from there. The state of the roads in that part of the state is very deplorable and is unacceptable.”
He promised to rectify the issue under three months on his assumption of office as the governor of the state.
Welcoming Barrister Imansuangbon and his entourage, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, the Chairman of the LP in the state, promised that a level playing ground will be made available for the party’s governorship primaries.
“What this party will do within the ambit of my leadership is to do the right thing,” Comrade Ogbaloi asserted.
