There was pandemonium in Abavo Community in Agbor today as joint team of men of Nigeria Police Force and the military stormed house No 12 to arrest a suspected hardened gay.

Efforts by our correspondent to speak with the security team proved abortive as they were bitter and disappointed they did not meet the suspect to arrest him.

Also, the indigenes who were at the scene did not hide their fears over the sudden invasion and were not forthcoming with any information either.

Meanwhile, after frantic efforts, the father of the boy accused of gay volunteered to have exclusive chat with us.

The father who identified himself as Mr. Philip narrated his ordeal, “in short, l am short of words over the security invasion on my house today. I just returned home from my outing when suddenly l heard a gunshot in my compound.

“l was very scared and when l tried to peep through my window to ascertain what was happening, l noticed that joint security team made up of men of the Nigeria Police and the military have surrounded my house. At that point l raised up my two hands above my head and came out of my house to ask them what was the matter.”

According to him, “all that they repeatedly demanded was the whereabout of my son, Ikeckukwu, and l told them l just came into my house now from outside and that l don’t know where he, Ikechukwu has gone to. The bloodthirsty security men who shouted on top their voices said someone came to report to them that Ikechukwu my son is a hardened gay in the community.

I tried to know who reported him but they refused to mention anybody. At that point, l bluntly told them that none of my children, not even Ikechukwu is a homosexual because l brought them up with biblical doctrine. They dropped their contact phone number with me that l should give it to my son, Ikechukwu to call them when he returns back home and they left in frustration.”

He continued: “I suspect this security team to be up to something. They look like people on illegal duty because last week, Ikechukwu told me he had a heated argument with a popular politician in Agbor town over political issues which resulted in the politician to threaten him.”

Quoting Ikechukwu, “the politician threatened that he will deal with me in a way that l will never forget. I am very sure this gay allegation is not unconnected to the threat that the politician gave to my son.”

Mr. Philip expressed total disappointment and bitterness over the oppression of the less privileged by the rich, especially politicians in the country, Nigeria. He also hinted that shortly after the security team left their house, he called his son and told him about all that ensued and since then he has not seen nor heard from him as Ikechukwu’s phone is steadily switched off.

It could be recalled that since former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, signed the anti same sex bill in 2014, homosexual has been criminalised in Nigeria.
