A group, Corncerned Edo Citizens Forum(CECF), has warned Kogi State Governor, Yaya Bello, “to focus more on development of the state than embarking on mission impossible.”
In a statement issued by Roy Oribhabor(Convener) and Fatai Mustapha Efehi(Diaspora Coordinator) which was made available to Popular News, CECF said: “It has become necessary to call on Governor Yaya Bello of Kogi State to focus more on the development of the state than embarking on mission impossible.
“We view the presidential ambition of Bello as huge joke of the century and direct insult on the collective intelligence of Nigerians.
“Research conducted by us clearly shows that Bello is the youngest governor in Nigeria and the worst in terms of development, employment capacity and demonstration of leadership character and dispositions. Therefore, we call on the elders of Kogi State to as a matter of love and patriotism prevail on him to focus more on the development of the state than embarking on mission impossible.
“Governor Bello is misusing the great opportunity that Nigerian youths are fighting to get hence, he must show serious commitment to his people in Kogi State than elementary involvement in Nigerian politics as a large entity.
“His conducts in recent times ridicule our system of governance, Kogi State is a shadow of itself due to total neglect and lack of capacity by Bello. Why the rush? When Kogi State is seriously lacking behind because of his action and inactions.”
Going further, CECF stated: “We call on Governor Bello to show why we should take him serious despite the poverty level in his state? Does he want to further improvise our nation. Nigeria and Nigerians have seen it all. Bello for President. What a joke and insult?
“Finally, we are aware that, he is qualified to contest based on the constitutional requirements but he lack the capacity and ability to understand the workings of government. He came to power via divine directive.
“One will expect him to be humble and reward his people with progress and development than punishment. His performance for the past five years is a show of shame that has reduced the morale of Nigeria youths to aspire for offices and positions.
“Indeed Nigeria democracy and leadership formation call for serious commitment. We call on Bello to prove us wrong or otherwise his ambition is doomed for punishment and political incarceration that must not fly.
“He must show his seriousness or otherwise he is a joker to further rubbish us as a people. Nigeria need a determined leadership at this material time.”
“The suffering in the land is unprecedented therefore, a leader with vision is what Nigeria and Nigerians need now. Bello tell us your seriousness by showcasing your performance in Kogi State.”
