The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has sent a congratulatory message to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, stressing that it’s “ready to work with the new government to succeed provided its policy and programmes are pro-people and development driven.”
In a letter signed by the state Chairman, Dr. Greg Igbinomwanhia and its Secretary, Hon. Osiriame Edeipo, IPAC stated that it is celebrating with the governor and his party as they ascend the position of leadership in the state.
The Edo IPAC, which is the umbrella body of the state chairmen of the 19 political parties recognised by INEC affirmed that she is ready to cooperate with any of her member party that forms government in the state and is set to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Going forth, IPAC also “advised the new government to eschew any form of bitterness and violence, whether towards the opposition, the people of Edo State or within the party itself, as they embark on the long journey of building on the achievements of the previous administration.”
IPAC also used the medium to urge the new government “to accept and work with constructive criticism that may be directed at them by either the media, opposition parties and the general public, as that forms the foundation for true democracy and good governance.”
The IPAC said that it is ready “to galvanize the support of other parties in the state in order to rally round the Okpebholo led government, when it is seen to be people oriented.”
