Comrade Peter Idahosa, who was the standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP) for the Oredo East Constituency during the Edo State House of Assembly polls last year, has continued to regret his loss of the polls to the powers that be – the state governor, Godwin Obaseki and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).

“To cap it all, I went to court to defend the result but the LP hierarchy never supported me. At the end of the day the case was thrown out.”

Recalling how he became a member of the LP, Comrade Idahosa said that prior to his joining the party he was the Edo State Coordinator of the Peter Obi Success Group (POSG) and was called to join the LP with members of his group from whence he emerged the party’s candidate for Oredo East Constituency for the state House of Assembly election.

He advised the hierachy of the party to stick to the dream of its progenitors or risk losing its genuine members as the members of the Obidient Movement who constitute a large chunk of the party members in Edo State is now split into four different groups with one part sympathetic to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another part is championing the ideals of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), the third group is still aligned to the LP and the last group is undecided.
