Women society show love to aged

Stand Up for Women Society(SWS), a non- governmental organization(NGO), has donated items worth thousands of naira to the Catholic Old People’s Home in Warri.

The group led by the State Vice Chairperson, Liberator Cheke and the Secretary, Liberator Tosan Atie said, one of the objectives of the association is to protect the down trodden especially women and to put smiles on their faces

Liberator Cheke said, the association found it necessary to put smiles on the faces of the elderly at this yuletide season to honour them, give them love and hope.

According to her, “the elderly are the most neglected in the society and this is not right as everyone look forward to get old some day.”

She admonished the youths to give adequate love and support to their aged parents and relatives and not to abandon them to their fate when they are stricken with age while saying they laboured and toiled in their youthful age to make life better for their children hence, they deserve all the love and support they desire.

The female caregiver of the home, Mrs Roli Eligboyibo, appreciated the members of the group for the kind gesture and prayed for God’s guidance and provision for the members of the group just as the elders of the home also prayed.

Those present at the event were Liberators Rachael Okene, Christy Atie, Andris Ereyitomi, Bukola Omagbemi and Victoria Oriogbe amongst others

Items presented included used clothes, tubers of yams, garri, footwear and toiletries.
