Pipelines Surveillance Contract: Group solicits INC’s support for partnership with Tantita Security Services

Beyond surveillance contracts to a united Niger Delta Agenda

Please, good day. I need the support of my Ijaw brothers to be educated on ongoing issues that if not properly handled my lead to some major cracks that may smell doom for the Ijaw nation.

Feelers reaching me is that there is a major katakaka in the umbrella body of the Ijaw nation, the Ijaw National Congress (INC), which recently conducted an election to bring in a new exco led by High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei to succeed the outgoing Professor Benjamin Ogele Okaba.

A good decision this turn out to be but a few days to the election, Chief Government Oweizide Ekpumopolo (aka Tompolo) came into the picture he zoomed into Yenagoa to discuss with Governor Douye Diri on ways and manners that the election could be held and the winner allowed to take over without confusion.

However, this was not to be as Tompolo allegedly did not heed the counsel of Governor Diri. Rather, he returned to Delta State and allowed the election to be held under his watch with his ‘boy’ Igbadiwei emerging victorious and been sworn in as the new INC numero uno. The first occurrence of such manner. All elections of the INC is held in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State and the exco sworn in in Ijaw House. So why the difference this time around?

All those who have grouse with the electoral process. I was made to know that there were eight of them, have taken the law path and Governor Diri is not happy as his directive is not obeyed.

Meanwhile, he has ordered that the process should be hanged on a “cooloo temper” pole until a credible solution is found to get reprieve and give the Ijaw nation its high up finger of achieving an election that most of the players would be proud to tell generations of unborn Niger Deltans that they were involved in the maintenance of peace in the region.

Aaa Izon!
