The Edo State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City has today upheld the victory of Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi, representing Egor/Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
The three man panel of Judges namely Hon. Justice Chijoke(Chairman), Hon. Justice Uthman El-Mainari(Member 1) and Hon. Justice Akeredolu(Member 2) ruled that Hon. Omoruyi of the Labour Party (LP) scored 82,829 valid votes in the February 25th poll to defeat Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Henry Okhuarobo who got 18,685 votes and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Crosby Eribo who scored 13,521 votes.
In his message to his constituents, Hon. Omoruyi said: “I am thrilled to share the wonderful news with all of you. Today, I am humbled and grateful to announce our victory at the Election tribunal case.
“This victory is not just mine; it’s a win for our shared vision, dedication, and tireless efforts. It reaffirms our commitment to serving our community and working towards a better future together.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you who believed in our cause, supported us through thick and thin, and stood by us unwaveringly. Your faith and trust in our mission have made this victory possible.
“As we move forward, let’s continue to work hand in hand, striving for progress, unity, and positive change. Together, we can achieve remarkable things for our constituency and our nation.
