There is a Yoruba adage that says that if a family is peaceful and having a nice time don’t be deceived by all the razmattazz.
The peace in the family says the adage is as a result of the calm attitude of the ‘omoale’ in the family.
Going further the adage says that the day the ‘omoale’ realises his status and decides to take up arms and seek a solution to his misfortune that day marks the start of crisis in the family and indeed the society.
It started like a joke. Most residents of the acclaimed City of Bronze, Benin, are now accustomed to waking up in the morning to see bulldozers come into their community to raze down their precious landed properties on the orders of you know who.
