Stop fooling Nigerians, Activist cautions Apostle Suleiman

Chief Patrick Eholor, a human rights activist and Labour Party (LP) chieftain, has warned the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), whose convoy was attacked recently by gun wielding men, to stop fooling Nigerians with his chains of absurd stories.

“Let me send my condolences to those Nigerian Police Officers who lost their lives in trying to protect other people’s lives. Let me also thank God for Apostle Suleiman’s life and the lives of his children and wife. I also sympathise on the loss of the civilians. Life is life. Everybody is important.

“But this is going to reveal a lot of things I have been talking about for over 25 years now. Most churches, and mosques are scam and the Nigerian government as usual has been able to legitimise the scam that is going on.

“Look at for example in Rwanda. Rwanda has been able to purge fake pastors and fake imams, scrutinise them making sure that these people don’t steal people’s minds because some of them hypnotise you and take your mind away.”

On the allegation that the Police in Auchi killed the suspect arrested in the ambush of Apostle Suleiman without interrogating him.

“This is exactly what I said about General Leo Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) when he destroyed the vessel that was taken to high sea and suspected of taking crude oil illegally to sell as a sort of economic sabotage. If the CDS don’t have anything to cover up that would have been preserved as evidence.

“Get some forensic experts, because before you rent a vessel there must be identification, there must be an address. They didn’t want us to trace it; they didn’t want us to know those who are stealing our crude oil and that is why they burnt that vessel. That’s why I must take them to court.

“Yes, using that case as a reference point. The DPO(Divisional Police Officer) of Auchi Police Division has no right to extra judicially kill a suspect. Police are to arrest a suspect. If you feel that there are charges that warrant you charge the suspect you charge the suspect to court. And when he gets to court the prosecutor takes it from there and prosecutes the suspect. When the prosecutor prosecutes the suspect and the judge is satisfied that there is evidence, there is prima facie the judge can now make a decision either to convict or to acquit.

“For the Police to knowingly kill the suspect, I am going to write to the Inspector General of Police(IGP). I think the Police should be put on trial. I think the Police know what we don’t know. We have the situation where seven people died. You’re able to arrest one. We are lucky. The person would have at least told us who sent them and why. That’s what I see in this regard.

“In as much as I sympathise with Apostle Suleiman, but we are not collectively stupid Apostle Suleiman. We are not stupid people. You said that this has been going on since 2017. That we don’t know the deepness of this matter. That if you come out and say it those people who are after your life are going to deny it.

“If you know that people are after your life since 2017 and you asked for police protection. You were able to protect your car with bulletproof and the police that were assigned to you you were protecting their patrol van with your sticker and anointing oil. It doesn’t make sense.

“We are just too gullibly stupid when we follow people blindly in the name of God. It is wrong. He didn’t disappear, obviously. He said it with his mouth that he was safe. He was protected by the bulletproof car. But how many of us would be able to buy a bullet proof car? If you’re protecting yourself why did you not also protect the police or protect those who were with you. You already know that people are on your trail according to what you said.

“Apostle Suleiman says things before he thinks and it is unfortunate that a man of God cannot process his thought before he talks. He was the same person that said ‘thank God with the COVID – 19. I have bought two planes. I would have bought the third one but my wife said I shouldn’t buy.’ Who does that? People are going through a crisis, people are dying. You were coming out bragging.

“Then there is the women issue. Can everybody just be liars. You also now say the same people who are chasing you are the ones who are manufacturing these lies and bringing these women. Please those who are going worshipping God worship God in truth and spirit. Do not worship God through men because men are deceitful.

“I think the Inspector General of Police, I have written to him, he should be very concerned about this. The DSS(Department of State Services) should be very concerned about this. Every security apparatus that we have in this country should be concerned about it. If it is in America the local police would be interested. The FBI(Federal Bureau of Investigation) would be interested. It is a very serious case.

“Apostle Suleiman whether you like it or not is a prominent soul called Man of God in our society and he has a lot of followers. So, if there are people who are after him we should try and stop the people. The police should also try to be responsible so that we can trust them and have confidence in them.

“Every new IGP that has come to power would say ‘there would be no roadblock. We are going to take all the police from the VIP.’ They actually multiply them. We are a country of over 200 million people. We have 300,000 police that are not even enough for us. According to the United Nations guideline you need about 300,000 police to 2million people.

“They have taken the police, half of them or more, to private individuals. These police that are supposed to protect the people, lives and properties are being sold to individuals who can afford it.”

On PDP Presidential candidate(Atiku Abubakar) for the next election’s pronouncement to set up local police on assumption of office

“Well, I wouldn’t call him a dishonest person. But I know that politicians are always after themselves. They don’t ask us what we need. They decide what we want. But it ought not to be so in an ideal society. We tell them what we want and they work towards what we want. If they have a manifesto we follow it.”
