The management of Edo Queens FC of Benin, has warned other clubsides to steer clear of Comfort Folorunsho, one of its utility players that the club has declared absent without official leave(AWOL).
She was alleged to have absconded from the club’s camp in Benin City after packing her belongings without official permission an action that runs contrary to the rules and regulations guiding the activities of the club’s players.
Making the announcement of her sudden absence from the team’s camp in Benin City, the club’s Media Manager, Joseph Ojieva Ehiosun, said that she still has a valid contract with the club “hence she has no right to leave without officially informing the club of her where about.”
Edo Queens said that it is “willing to release her to any interested club in an orderly and professional manner” adding”this notice is to warn clubs not to engage her services without due clearance from Edo Queens FC.”
It’s suspected that the player, who has been an active member of the Nigeria Women Football League(NWFL) Premiership team, must have been bitten by the japa syndrome whereby recently some of its key players have secured juicy deals with teams in overseas.
