She came, she saw and she conquered

When the body of Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) it was obvious to other patients of the hospital that a celebrity of no mean repute was in their midst.

The first sign of the caliber of dignity that was brought in was codedly written on the body of the modern type of ambulance that brought the body in. The ambulance was said to be glittering in all ramifications.

As soon as the body was about to be ushered into the ICU policemen well suited and armed to the teeth were said to be spread around the UBTH in their numbers looking menacingly at unkwnowned beleaguered fellows who will over reach themselves in equiring who the new patient was and what brought her in.

The next thing was that the well prepared body was lifted up carefully and lowered into a modern day stretcher which was bought expensively a sign that money answereth all questions under the sky.

What was expected was let loose as the body was admitted into the ICU ward fully accompanied by her celebrity last child, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Rt. Hon. Idahosa sat by her bedside for the entire number of days that she was kept alive by the eager hospital staff on the notification of the Deputy Governor.

But alas she gave up the ghost on the tick of the clock on the last day. At the age of 95 years. She came, she saw and she conquered leading to the interment of her body by 8th – 10th May, 2026.

If death can be stopped by mortals, surely Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, would have been left off the hook for another year and another year.

Sleep on thee well Mama, you are a mother worth standing in the gap for.
