Reinstated Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu and a former gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in the state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, have sent congratulatory messages to the governor elect of the state, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

In his own message, Comrade Shaibu stated: “We have all fought a very good fight on the political turf, and in the process, may have offended one another. However, these were mistakes of the head, not of the heart, in the contest for power and position. Now that the election is over, we must unite and support the winner for a better and more prosperous Edo State.”

Finally, Shaibu advised the Governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory and reach out to his opponents to foster inclusion and cooperation, acknowledging the significant tasks that lie ahead.

In his own message Pastor Ize-Iyamu averred: “Your victory is a testament to the overwhelming support and trust the people of Edo State have placed in you. I thank them for their commitment to ensuring this success, and I have no doubt that you will honor that trust by delivering the uncommon transformation you have promised. Your vision, experience, and dedication to service have rightly positioned you as the leader our state needs during this pivotal time.

“My dear brother, as you embrace this significant responsibility, know that you have my prayers and full support. I am confident that, with God’s grace and guidance, your administration will become a shining beacon of hope and progress for all Edos, regardless of their faith, creed, political beliefs, or ethnic background.”

Going further, Pastor Ize-Iyamu stressed: “I deeply appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the security agencies and the press for their professionalism and commitment to excellence during the election. Their efforts ensured that the democratic process was upheld with integrity and impartiality.

“Most importantly, I give all the glory and honour to the Almighty God for this achievement. The process was peaceful and violence-free and it is only His grace and favor that could have made this possible.”
