Shaibu encourages Tobi Amusan

Embattled Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has found a new pass time.

The sports loving Edo State exco member has now concentrated much of his attention to congratulating Nigerian athletes on their achievements in international outings.

The latest beneficiary of this gesture is World Record holder in the 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, who took the sixth position at a recent meet in Budapest.

Congratulating the athlete, Shaibu said: “Tobi Amusan you should be proud of yourself! I would like to first and foremost, congratulate you on your outstanding accomplishment of holding the world record in the 100m hurdles. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering determination have undoubtedly brought you to this unprecedented feat, making you a source of inspiration for athletes across the globe. Your impressive performances have not only brought pride to Nigeria but have captured the hearts of many who have admired your talent and drive.

“Despite your disappointing finish in the final of the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. I know how hard you have worked to defend your world title, and I am deeply disappointed that you were not able to do so.

“However, I want you to know that you are still a champion in our eyes. You have shown incredible talent and determination throughout your career, and I am confident that you will bounce back from this setback.

“Keep your head held high, stay focused, and never lose sight of the dreams that have driven you this far. You are a true champion, Tobi, and your legacy will forever shine brightly in the annals of Nigerian athletics.

“Wishing you all the strength and success in the world.”
