Rights activist praises Obaseki for prompt response to plea

Rights activist, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor(aka Ultimate Equals) has showered encomium on Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for responding promptly to an earlier mail he sent as regards the urgent need for the reopening of the Benin High Court.

Said Eholor: “I want to sincerely thank him (Governor Godwin Obaseki) and his executive for responding back to my letter. Congratulating him for having the same thought that I have that the judiciary is very important considering those who are in awaiting trials and all other people who are seeking redress from court.

“Our democracy is still evolving, the Governor of Edo State have shown that he is a democrat who will allow men and women of their freedom of expression as amended in our act enshrined in our constitution. I will continue to beam by light and my voice on any government in power whether local, state or federal.

“Leaders are to lead and not mislead people, the resources belongs to all of us, the colonial masters left us for many years, we can no longer blame them but to take responsibility. 60 years ago after the world war countries like Japan, Germany and some other European countries the world was assisting them with aids, most of these countries after 20 years they are given aids to other countries and African countries after 60 years we are still depending on aids.

“This is not about Governor Godwin Obaseki, This is not about Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ‘Emilokan’, This is not about the Inspector General of Police(IGP)0. It’s about the law and no one is above the law as it is blind and no respecter of anyone.

“Our people need to wake up and be a part of this governance so they can take power away from this current political bandits, we need to avoid political apathy vote, we need to come out in every other election regardless of the political party.

“Always remember that you are a stakeholder in the political space.”
