Hon. Billy Osawaru, the member repressnting Uhunmwode/Orhionmwon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in Abuja, has absolved himself in the accusation made against him in a viral video that he sponsored thugs to disrupt a meeting held in his constituency.
According to the federal lawmaker, he wasn’t aware that a meeting was held on the said day in Umagbae North Ward 5, Uhunmwode and thus impossible for him to have sent thugs there.
He stated that “the acts of violence and the damages recorded are quite unfortunate, regrettable, and condemnable. It’s sadly, a preventable consequence of political actors in their unholy attempts at factionalizing a hitherto peaceful and united ward.”
He advised that they sort out their internal issues and desist from accusing him falsely and maliciously, adding that he is a peaceful man who is too exposed, and enlightened to condescend to the level of using thugs and hoodlums for whatever reason.
Finally, he stated without any form of equivocation that he is innocent of the accusation against him as alleged in the video and reiterated his “commitment to the peaceful commingle and harmonization of conflicting interests in Umagbae North.”
