The Labour Party(LP), a beacon of hope for many Nigerians, is facing turmoil as calls for the removal of its National Chairman, Julius Abure, grows louder.

The silence from the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on this matter is deafening, raising concerns about his commitment to transparency and accountability.

The situation within the LP is an alarming development for Nigeria’s democracy and a reminder of the corrosive effects of corruption on our political institutions.

The party’s National Chairman has a clear conflict of interest, and his actions threaten the integrity of the party and its stated mission to bring about positive change.

The failure of Peter Obi, who has long championed transparency and accountability, to speak out against this alleged corruption within his own party is deeply troubling. It suggests that he may be more interested in political expediency than the long-term health of the party and our country.

Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor(aka Ultimate Equal) is the Labour Party(LP) Director of Contact and Mobilisation in the Diaspora and President One Love Foundation.
