On the conclusion of its Caretaker Committee members meeting of Monday, April 7th, 2025, Edo State People’s Democratic Party(PDP) called on its members and the people of the state to “remain resolute and not allow the verdict of the Election Tribunal to dampen their confidence in the institution of the Judiciary and democracy in Nigeria.”
In a Communique signed by Henry Duke Tenebe, Secretary of the Caretaker Committee, the PDP said that it discussed the outcome of the governorship election petition tribunal and carefully analysed the judgment.
According to the Communique, the PDP “agreed that the judgement of the election petition tribunal was a travesty of justice and therefore endorsed the decision of its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, to appeal the obnoxious judgment.
“It called on PDP members and the people of Edo State to remain resolute and not allow the verdict of the Election Tribunal to dampen their confidence in the institution of the Judiciary and democracy in Nigeria.”
Coordinating proceedings of the well attended meeting was Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee in Edo State.
