Our vision is to build great players – Academy Proprietor

The CEO of Norrod Abbot Global Football Academy, Onoriode Onyen, has disclosed the vision of the Academy is not just to build great players, but great people on and off the pitch.

He spoke on the occasion of the official unveiling of the Football Academy on Friday at the Media Centre of the ultra-modern Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.

According to him, “Norrod Abbott Global Football Academy was founded with a clear purpose-to discover, nurture, and empower young football talents from all walks of life-our vision is not just to build great players-but disciplined, educated, and inspired individuals who will become a generation of footballers who will once grace a home of hope, training, and transformation.”

In his own submission, the Chairman of the Edo State Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, said: “This is what we want to see in Edo State. We want to see more of good things in football. I told the last person that did unveiling here that as long as we remain in office our facilities are for all the clubsides in the state.”

Baldwin Bazuaye, a Director in the State Sports Commission, representing Edo South District, averred that Governor Monday Okpebholo, who is a Sports lover, have given them the directive of focusing on grassroots sports development an assignment they’re condemned to achieve thus making projects like the Norrod Abbot Football Academy a buy-in project by the Commission.
