In a stirring Easter message that echoed across the nation, Chief Chamberlain Owen Obaseki, the Chairman and National Coordinator of the Non-Partisan Progressives Movement of Nigeria (NPPMN), called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, humility, and transformational leadership as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The message, released during the Easter weekend, encouraged citizens—especially those entrusted with public responsibility—to reflect on the deeper meanings of the season beyond festivities. Chief Obaseki, who is also the Otaifo of Uromi, urged political office holders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to abandon the culture of greed and impunity, and instead embrace a renewed commitment to service, integrity, and accountability.

“Easter reminds us of the noblest example of leadership—one rooted in humility, service, and an unwavering commitment to the common good,” he said, adding that true leadership must not be a platform for self-enrichment, but a divine calling to uplift the people and drive societal progress.

The Chairman stressed that leadership legacies should not be measured by wealth or titles, but by the impact on lives, restoration of hope, and the pursuit of justice.

Chief Obaseki’s message also reinforced the guiding philosophy of the NPPMN: “Raising Voices, Not Banners, For Progress Beyond Politics.” He called for a collective renewal of values—urging citizens to prioritize justice over selfishness, service over power, and people over profit.

Chief Chamberlain Owen Obaseki wished all Nigerians a peaceful and purpose-driven Easter celebration.
