On the eve of Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day, the management of celebrity hangout, Kada Cinemas, Benin, held a preview of the 2021 spy film, No Time to Die, a James Bond series produced by Eon Productions and starring Daniel Craig in his fifth and final outing as the fictional British MI6 agent James Bond 007. The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Entry to watch the preview was free even as the in-house DeeJay, Dan Mixx supplied a medley of melodious music to the multitude of funseekers who while being thrilled were munching snacks and seeping soft drinks at no extra cost courtesy of the Kada Cinemas management.
While chatting with the media on the red carpet, Trevor Logan Pillay, the Managing Director of Kada Cinemas, had this to say on the idea behind the preview and much more.
“I am a big fan of James Bond. I have being following his movies for many years. This is the fifth movie that is done by Daniel Craig. We have had Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery and many others.
“No Time to Die is a movie that has been postponed for almost a year. We are excited that it is finally hitting the box office. Yes, it (movie preview) doesn’t happen too often. Normally if you are in the US and other parts of the world a big release is often preceded by a preview. So, why not celebrate it here in Benin City, Nigeria?”
Also responding to enquiries on the reason for the free entry to watch the preview, Pillay said: “We have partnered with a few of our suppliers. We just want to bring something to some of our guests to come out to enjoy a day before Nigeria hit 61.”
