For Hillary Aitanke(aka MC Hilarious), the road to stardom has not been as smooth as many may think but he has been able to surmount all obstacles to ride on on the crest of credible performance as a skit maker cum standup act.
“My challenge is that the road to stardom is not easy with people not believing in you, thinking that you cannot do it.”
Hillary stated that as of now “it is an entirely story now. I have now gained acceptance and my career is blossoming to the glory of God.”
On what motivates him he said: “My motivation is my people – the Esan people, the Edo people – and even beyond Edo State. I also thank my family for their motivation. God has been faithful.”
He listed standup acts Sirbalo, Mr. Macaroni and Nollywood star, Pastor Valiho Osagie as his mentors who he has been under studying. In the next five years he sees himself as growing bigger than his mentors.
“The prayer of a father is that his children should surpass him. In the next five years I see myself doing a lot of collaboration with top Nollywood stars like Mr. Macaroni, Sabinus, MC Edopikin and other top stars. This will take my career higher than where I am now.”
He adviced upcoming stars to always believe in themselves as “you cannot give what you don’t have. Even though the world is pushing you back but because you know what you have you will give it back.
“People will see and accept and see what you have inside of you. Work on yourself and be the best.”
He disclosed that in years to come he has plans to organise a show that will feature some of the best in Nollywood in commemoration of his fifth year anniversary in the entertainment industry.
