His Royal Highness Edward Okhumode, the Okpe Ukpi of Ogbona Clan, has charged his subjects to shun all kinds of criminality to ensure that his domain is safe and friendly for all and sundry in line with the Edo State Government clarion call of a New Edo Risen.
Going further, in a chat, the Okpe Ukpi, said that the state government under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo has done much to stem the hydraheaded issue of criminality in the hinterland especially as it relates of kidnapping and armed robbery with the distribution of brand new motorcycles to all parts of the state and also rejigging of the better trained state Security Network personnel; creation of an anti-cultism squad and creation of a Special Task Force amongst others.
He however adviced that more needs to be done to curb the activities of the criminals. One of his suggestions is that it wont be out of place to ensure that well trained and equipped forest guards should be inter mixed with the Security Network personnel, Anti Cultism and Special Task Force to be combing the forest regularly so as to fish out undesirable elements who may want to cause havoc.
The royal father stated that Ogbona is well prepared to welcome well intentioned individuals who may wont to establish their business base therein.
“We’re peace loving people here in Ogbona and also accommodating to visitors. We have enough virgin land which can be turned to a huge agricultural hub by anyone interested in going into agrobusiness.
“Our land is fertile and we are ready and open to anyone who is interested in making our locality his business base. We’re assuring such persons that they will not regret making that move.”
