Stop squandering Edo people’s resources on political jamborees, PDP warns Okpebholo

Just In: Delta North earnestly desire Anioma State, says Senator Ned Nwoko

Rights activist and Director of Contact and Mobilisation of the Labour Party (LP) in the Diaspora, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor (aka Ultimate Equals), has advised the party’s members in the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly (NASS) not to be equally yoked with members of the other political parties, whom he described as corrupt politicians, in milking the country dry.

According to him, “I have just done billboards that will be circulated in the 18 local government areas of Edo State. Written on the billboards is ‘you have rode on a horse. Do not forget the horse that took you to where you are. I am directly talking to the LP elected legislators in the Edo State House of Assembly and the NASS who have been fortunate to represent us.

“They cannot go there and agree with the fraudulent politicians. They must represent the people. That was the reason we used our sweat and blood to support their emergence.”

Also talking about the large number of aspirants that have shown interest to fly the LP flag in the 2024 governorship poll in Edo State, Chief Eholor said: “Politics is inclusive. We also know that some of them are coming from other political parties. We don’t care. Let them come.

“I hope some of them will have a change of mind. Some of them will know that the LP is different from the other political parties. They should also understand that it is not the LP that is winning elections but the Obi/Datti Movement that came to support the LP that’s making the difference.

“So, if they’re not careful as they come in they will leave with humiliation because they cannot get exactly what they were getting from the rotten All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). It is not going to be business as usual.”

On the threat of a nationwide strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC), Eholor stressed: “Protest is benefitting if it is done rightly. It is a fundamental human right. Anybody can protest but it must be for a good purpose.

“For the NLC, especially Comrade Ajaero, the President of the NLC, who is a product of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, he is a failure. The NLC should be disbanded. We don’t need them. They’re not representing our interest. They have become a dog who barks without teeth.

“When we did Endsars we did not need NLC. Whatever that we have done we did it collectively within the civil society movement. NLC are making noise, once they’re settled they back out. I can never believe in them because they’re a product of Senator Adams Oshiomhole.”

On the issue of insecurity, Eholor said drones can be acquired to address the issue while the morale of junior ranking military men should be boosted with good welfare packages.
