Patrick Ebojele, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appealed to journalists to key into the state government’s Shine Agenda as it’s real.
He was speaking on the occasion of the reception party held in his honour at the NUJ Press Centre on Friday evening.
Addressing the gathering, Ebojele said: “The Shine Agenda of His Execellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is on course. Ordinarily, what you hear of is proposal. Governor Okpebholo has gone way beyond that we now see practical governance in action.”
He pleaded for the understanding and support of reporters serving in the state to escalate the chains of achievements of the Okpebholo administration meant to take the people higher.
Earlier, in his welcome speech, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, the Chairman of the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) appealed for synergy between the office of the CPS and journalists to make governance hassle free.
He charged the CPS to always have at the back of his mind the dictum that journalists mean well for governance in the state and as such should be carried along in affairs of governance.
The programme was witnessed by former officials of the council and veteran journalists cut across the length and breadth of the state and neighbouring states.
