The Edo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) has endorsed the candidacy of Comrade Ede Agho, who is contesting for the Vice Chairmanship position of the Council in the election expected to come up in December.
Moving a motion for the endorsement, the sports writers said her antecedents speak for her describing her as a square peg in a square hole.
Comrade Agho and her campaign team had stormed the venue of the inaugural congress of the Comrade Kehinde Osagiede – led SWAN held at the Media Centre of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, to tell the gathering of her intentions and what she has to offer.
She told the sports writers that her emergence will bring about a new narrative in the affairs of the council as she will lead the fight to better the work environment of reporters and also ensure that their retirement is filled with joyful moments.
Comrade Agho cited many instances in the past when she came out to successfully canvass for better work environment for reporters. She assured that she will add value to the council on been elected.
On hand to receive Comrade Agho and her team at the SWAN Congress were a horde of members made up of broadcasters and national dailies correspondents who make up the sports reporting body.
