Just In: Obaseki takes over revenue collection in Edo

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has directed that all that concerns revenue earnings in the state will now come under the direct supervision of his office.

The supervision of revenue generation in the state had hitherto been under the purview of the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu from the inception of this administration

In a statement signed by the media aide to the Governor, Crusoe Osagie, he said the decision became necessary after the government reviewed the state earnings and discovered that it has fallen below set target.

The governor in the statement also queried Permanent Secretaries and local government administrators for poor performance. The governor’s move has created a din of argument in media space that all may not be well between him and his deputy.
