Just In: Leslie Ebhotemhen, Damian Lawani, 16 others make Edo State commissioners’ list

The much expected list of Commissioners will be sent to the Edo State House of Assembly this week by Governor Godwin Obaseki according to a high ranking government official.

The list has Barrister Leslie Ebhotemhen, an Abuja based lawyer, who was one of the three persons that bought governorship nomination form for Obaseki in 2020.

Ebhotemhen, who is from Esan North East Local Government Area and is a well known member of Obaseki Mandate Forum that took it upon itself to raise N22million to purchase the APC’s governorship nomination and expression of interest form for the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, said it was because of its satisfaction and conviction that he means well for the state.

A ranking member of the group, Ambassador Leslie Akahomen Ebhotemhen, expressed the group’s confidence in the ability of the incumbent governor to take the state to an enviable level before the expiration of his tenure.

He said: “Yes our association is called the Obaseki Mandate Forum and this group came together under the leadership of Prince Momoh a retired Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Director, having seen the great works done across the local government areas of Edo State and finding it laudable, we chose to come together to initiate the idea of showing how concerned we are to develop the state together.

“Our interest as a group is to add more grease to the elbow of the performing governor by encouraging him positively and giving him the encouragement needed to make the dream of every Edo man/woman come true.

“He has proven to us that his leadership as a governor defines what the state could look like in another four years,” Ebhotemhen further stressed.

Also in the list of the commissioner nominees is Barrister Damian Lawani, former Commissioner for Special Duties and former member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

The list is expected to be read at the floor of the House on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021.
