In a statement by W.O. Abbe, Permanent Secretary/Chairman, Local Government Pensions Bureau, Benin City, he stated: “This is to inform all Edo State Local Government Pensioners that the State Government has graciously approved the immediate release of the sum of N1,509,333,776.26k (One billion, five hundred and nine million, three hundred and thirty three thousand, seven hundred and seventy six naira, twenty six kobo) only for the payment of all outstanding pension arrears to the affected 1,559 pensioners for the period of 1986 – 2021.
“The affected pensioners are by this announcement requested to avail the Local Government Pensions Bureau with the following documents on or before 27th January, 2023.
“Pensioners I.D. Card; Photocopies of biometric and pay advice; bank statements from date of retirement to 31st December, 2022.
“The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) should take note, please.”
